Traditional irrigation techniques usually cause the wasting of water resources. In addition, crops that are located in rural areas require pumps powered by environmentally unfriendly fossil fuels. This research proposes a smart system energized microgrid. The proposal includes two stages: first generates daily profile based on an expert for adequate use water. Then, considering profile, power required pump is measured—the optimal electricity demand determined second stage. energy microgrid composed solar energy, battery storage (BESS) and diesel generator. managed management (EMS) model predictive control (MPC). selects start-up time technical aspects proposed methodology validated simulation with real data from alfalfa crop area Ecuador. results show considers benefit growth being studied also avoids waste
